Sow these loofah gourd seeds in warmth (65°F+) ½”-¾” deep, starting 4 weeks before the last frost under cover. Plant in a warm, sheltered spot with full sun, good drainage, and sturdy support. Germination takes 18-22 days; thin weaker seedlings as they don't transplant well. Acclimatize outdoors after frost danger passes when plants are 3-4 inches high. Harvest in 110 days from germination, spacing at least 24" apart—avoid feeding to maximize yield. Keep moist in summer, stop watering in autumn as fruits mature. When gourds turn brown and dry, harvest before frost and dry in a warm, ventilated area. Fully dried gourds allow easy peeling for natural sponge use.
